Urban Art Projects (UAP) is a specialist consultant with a strong industry reputation for the delivery of high quality large-scale public art and design works within architectural and landscape projects. Founded in 1993, UAP is both a design studio and workshop, which designs and/or fabricates the majority of artworks it curates. Led by Principals Matthew and Daniel Tobin, UAP is comprised of designers, artists, draftsmen, curators, metal workers and project managers, it is a menagerie of artistic and technical talents. With a head office and foundry in Brisbane, Australia, and offices located in New York and Shanghai, recent projects include: two large-scale artworks at the National Gallery of Australia’s new indigenous galleries; eight major artworks for the Shanghai Expo 2010, China; the ‘Breakwater Beacon’ tower and arts programme at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia; various artworks for the Westin Hotel in New Delhi, India, and for the Westfield Centre at Culver City, California, USA.
